Frequently asked questions about dues
According to our constitution, the annual dues are established by the Executive Committee in accordance with the annual budget. Dues are $40 and pay for snow plowing, common area maintenance, and other budgeted expenses. Paying your dues also allows you to vote at the civic association’s annual meeting.
Dues are payable by November 1, the start of the civic association’s fiscal year. Of course, since people move into our neighborhood throughout the year, we welcome your dues payment at any time! Questions? Please contact us.
About Online Payments
- Is it secure? Yes! We use Cheddar Up, a secure platform trusted by 100,000+ groups and non-profits.Your payment is transferred to the civic association bank account without us ever seeing your credit card information.
- Is there a fee? Cheddar Up charges you a small fee so the civic association can receive your full $40 — crucial to paying for snow plowing and other neighborhood services.
- Which cards are accepted? Cheddar Up accepts Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Discover.
- Why don’t you take Venmo or PayPal payments?
- What if I want to pay by cash or check? You can make a online pledge to deliver your offline payment, or you can skip the online step entirely and deliver a cash or check (payable to PRCA) payment directly to 4930 S. Tupelo Turn.
Why Not Venmo or PayPal?
Cheddar Up is the most transparent and fiscally responsible way for us to collect online payments.
- Venmo is not built for organizations; it allows only one person access to payments. This is bad for transparency and might leave us locked out when a new treasurer is voted in.
- PayPal charges fees, which would leave us with less money for snow plowing and common area maintenance.
